Visual color assessment is subjective — dependent on the observer, the light, and the environment. Spectrophotometers measure accurately, but only on a small measurement point. For products with color gradients, texture, patterns, or irregular surfaces, point measurement falls short.
DigiEye bridges that gap: it captures the entire surface under standardized conditions and delivers objective color data across the whole product.
What is DigiEye?

DigiEye is an integrated imaging system from VeriVide. A calibrated camera in a fully enclosed, standardized-lit chamber creates images from which color and appearance data are extracted.
No contact with the product. No influence from ambient light. Reproducible and objective.

Software Ecosystem

DigiEye is compatible with the full VeriVide software suite:
| Software | Function |
|---|---|
| DigiView | Remote image display and color analysis |
| DigiGrade | Automatic color fastness grading (VeriVide exclusive) |
| DigiPix | Image capture for color and texture assessment |
| DigiProduction | Color management and quality control in production |
Applications

DigiEye is deployed where point measurement is insufficient:
| Application | Why DigiEye |
|---|---|
| Textiles with texture or pattern | Color across entire surface, not one point |
| Food products | Contactless color measurement on irregular surfaces |
| Liquids | Internal tray for precise positioning |
| Cosmetics & pharma | Objective color measurement of creams, powders, tablets |
| Packaging & printing | Complete color control across image area |
| Automotive & plastics | Appearance assessment of texture and color combined |
| Building materials | Color gradient and texture variation on large samples |
DigiEye vs. spectrophotometer vs. light cabinet
| DigiEye | Spectrophotometer | Light cabinet | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Measurement type | Digital image analysis | Point measurement | Visual assessment |
| Measurement surface | Entire product | 3–25 mm spot | Not measurable |
| Objectivity | High | High | Low (observer dependent) |
| Texture/pattern | ✅ | ❌ | ✅ (visual) |
| Contactless | ✅ | ❌ (contact required) | ✅ |
| Data output | Color coordinates + image | Color coordinates | None |
DigiEye doesn't replace a spectrophotometer or light cabinet — it complements them. For many applications, the combination of all three is most reliable.
Integration in the VeriVide Ecosystem
DigiEye works seamlessly with:
- UltraView — visual assessment under calibrated LED lighting
- VisionView — visual + digital in one cabinet
- VeriVide Portal — color communication and approval across the supply chain
The same LED technology across all systems guarantees correlation between visual and digital assessment.
